"One reason seekers of the news are abandoning print newspapers for the Internet has nothing directly to do with technology. It’s that newspaper articles are too long," writes Michael Kinsley in the Atlantic.
Good point!
The only problem? Michael uses 1,806 words to make it.
It may be a cheap shot, but it is amusing nonetheless.
That said, I'm not convinced there is a lot of merit in Michael Kinsley's thesis. As far as I am concerned, length is irrelevant. Rather the reason I've stop reading traditional print newspapers has everything to do with technology. It is simply more convenient for me to access the news online than it is for more to go the newsagent and buy a newspaper. I read long and short articles online, just as I read long and short articles on the rare occasion I do occasionally pick up a newspaper.
