Hi Peter Enjoyed your entry. I sympathise. The intention of my blog is to share with the not for profit sector the latest news and ideas re advocacy and social change campaigns. But, time is also an issue for me. Between earning a living, caring for a pre-schooler and having a lovely but busy husband means the blog comes a distant last.

Your needs are different to mine. What I would like as a consumer of your blog and/or people doing similar things as you is this:

A webpage I can go to which lists out: links you have found interesting, your tweets, audio boo posts etc of your thoughts, & longer blog posts.

As I scan my twitterstream I might read a post from you and think, that sounds like a good link I will follow up later. But to do so is a bit of a chore. Whereas to to to a webpage with a stream which collects your posts from various sources would be easy and ideal.

I don't know much about posterous or lifestream to know if they serve this purpose.

All the best with it.
Cheers
Michelle

Tough one Pete. Sounds like Posterous might be a good way to go with the flexibility to post in lots of different ways. Twitter and Facebook etc. are good, but sometimes you want to write something with more analysis than 140 characters and a blog is a perfect place to do that, so it's good to keep it going.

Something I read when we were starting our 22michaels.com blog was that a posting rhythm is very important for readers, and it's more important than frequency. Even writing a post once or twice a week, if that's what you consistently do could work well - and posterous, with the ability to easily post with things like audioboo could make it easy for you to do that.
